Hands down, the best breakfast or lunch in the area! I've went out of my way to bring my neighbors, relatives & friends to Bonnie Rae's, just to show them how things used to be.
The portions are filling, the service is great AND the food quality is the best!
This little family run cafe is a hidden gem, just outside of Winona.
I still favor the "David" omelette, (named after Bonnie Rae's husband) , hash browns with fried onions, toast & a large OJ. I've tried the specials on occasion too. Pancakes are awesome. Always satisfied.
Their patty melts hit the spot & their burgers too. Id bet you won't get an order of onion rings or fries w/ your burger anywhere else this size either.
The deserts are delicious & will make you need a nap, especially the apple crisp.
I stopped in for a mid-morning breakfast and I was not disappointed. My eggs, hash browns, rye toast, & a pancake were tasty and the type of food you'd expect from a diner. It was made to order. My service was fine and the price was fair. I even liked the coffee. I recommend this place and plan to stop there again.
Very cute and comfortable small town diner- service was top notch, and the food was fairly priced! They have all your basic needs for breakfast and lunch. They cook the meals basically in front of you, so the meals are fresh and the food is good!
Great little cafe in Rollingstone, MN . About a 10" drive out of Winona in beautiful rolling countryside. Food is fresh and as stated before made before ur eyes! Breakfast/lunch... I think it closes at 2. This is a wonderful addition to your road trip along the Mississippi
Nestled in the town of The Natures showcase, Bonnie Rae's is a nice little short order grill in the small town of Rollingstone. Husband and wife run the place with Dave handling the table waiting as well as directing the morning discussions of what's happening. Bonnie handles the grill behind the counter. There is something to be said about watching someone cook your breakfast right in front of you. Maybe that is why I like the Waffle House! All fresh ingredients here and you can see it all prepared as you wait. The orders are filled fast and served hot. On weekends it gets crowded but the breakfast is worth it.
Once a month the local political party gathers to talk politics. A ma and pa place you will not be disappointed dining at.
If you are lucky Dave will take your photo and add it to the digital photo frame on the wall. Don't bother bringing your cellphone in because there is no cell service in town. If you ask, Dave might give you the password of the WiFi so you can check in on Yelp.
